Baby shower fun!

We are expecting our first grand baby this summer so Amanda came home for a baby shower. It was so much fun to make all the decorations, food, prizes, etc. But the funnest part was having my girl home for a whole month! I love to create fun things to share and who better to spoil with handmade goodies than my little Avery Mae! Babies are so fun- I know, I had 5! And I loved sewing and crafting for them. I am so excited that I get to do it all over again. It's hard to know that Amanda will deliver in a foreign country without me and that I won't be able to see Avery in her newborn stage. I am so glad there is Facetime and Skype now. I can sympathise with my own mom as 2 of my children were born in San Diego and it was hard for her not to be there for me. I may not be able to be a constant part of her life but I can make sure she knows that her grandma loves her and that there will always be something special and handmade in the mail to remind her of that!
Chocolate cupcakes with butter cream frosting and pink pearls. I cheated and used a box mix. Shhh!
The tags were easy to make using my banner punch and alphabet stamp set.
Since her colors were pink, white and light brown I filled the thank you treat bags with strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate salt water taffy. Easy and it didn't break the bank!
Thank goodness I passed on the crafty craft gene to my girls! Sammy made the tissue paper pom poms for me. I did not have the patience to do them. Pick out the saddest one and that is the one I did!
I loved this banner. The chipboard banner came precut from Hobby Lobby. I just had to add all the fun stuff I wanted to it. The wheels are buttons with linen thread bows tied in the center.
For my game prizes I did crocheted spa cloths with essential oil. I love to crochet and I love a good essential oil. Especially if the oil is from Fabulous Frannie!
These burp cloths were so fun and easy to make. There are numerous tuts on Pinterest but they are so super simple to make that you probably won't need to look. It was so fun to find so many lovely pink colors in the baby flannel!
I stamped the "Precious Little Baby" tag, and the tie that I used to finish off this gift for Avery.
I stamped the word "Princess" on the burp cloths and hope the ink stays put. I heat set it as directed.
Auntie Steph and Auntie Cricket came to celebrate!
